Archive for 'Brands'

Vanessa Willis of the Charlotte Observer wrote an article comparing the fit of FDJ jeans with a few other, common brands. In the article, she compares the fit of FDJ with Lee Riders, Old Navy and Tummy Tuck jeans. She also gives some additional online resources to help women gather additional information.

Vera Bradley in the Wikipedia

The Wikipedia has some interesting information about Vera Bradley and its current product lines.  (In case you aren’t familiar with the Wikipedia, it is a publicly-created and moderated reference site with information on… well… just about everything.)

The following image shows how the different French Dressing Jean styles are made to fit:

French Dressing Jean Fit

In general, FDJ jeans: (1) are styled to fit “real” women, (2) are designed in stretch fabric (most), letting them bend when you bend, breathe when you breathe, (3) create a sleek contour and add stability across the abdomen by keeping pockets flat and smooth, and (4) have tummy control fit.

Update:

We just added a new section to the site that provides much more detail on fitting FDJ apparel.

The following is an excerpt from the French Dressing Jeans website:

For nearly two decades, FDJ French Dressing has been helping women across North America find clothes that not only fit their bodies, but also their spirit as well. From jeans to skirts, jackets to knit tops, they blend sumptuous colors and fabrics to create clothing that reflects the inner confidence an FDJ French Dressing woman already feels. So, at a time when life is all about achieving balance, FDJ gives women something to call their own.

French Dressing Jeans is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

According to the article posted on FortWayne.com, Vera Bradley donated $70,000 to the Cancer Services of NE Indiana.  This is the largest corporate donation the organization has ever received.  This money will help ensure that people diagnosed with, and in treatment for cancer, receive “practical resources and emotional support.”  To date in 2006, the organization has served over 2,000 people.
