The James Store recently began carrying a great selection of dav Rain Boots. dav boots come in striking patterns and colors and are worth checking out. They are pretty comfortable, too.
Here are some comments directly from Samantha, owner of the James Store:
dav, high fashion for wet days: dav brings you a fun yet sophisticated collection for a pulled-together look even on the most blustery days. You no longer need to sacrifice your sense of style to the whims of the weather. I love my pair. It was important that I try these out as soon as they arrived. Of course it had nothing to do with how fun they were, ha ha, but also are these things really functional? Yes! I wear them in all kinds of weather and even to work at the store all day and trust me, I don’t sit down all day and am careful about my shoe choices because of being and they are great. I have worn them with leggings and dresses as well as under my favorite pair of jeans.

From the Karen Kane website:
Growing up in Santa Barbara, California, Karen Kane had a love affair with clothes. As a young girl, she knew her future held a career in fashion design. After graduating high school and receiving a degree in fashion design, she was on her way.

In the late 1970’s, Karen met her future husband and business partner, Lonnie. In 1979 they married and started Karen Kane, Inc. in their garage. As the years paseed they had 2 sons, Michael & Robert, and watched their company grow. Over 25 years later, Karen Kane Inc. has expanded to a 150,000 square foot facility in Los Angeles that employs over 200 people and distributes clothes around the world.
A quote from Karen: “A woman needs simple, stylish clothes because life is complicated. As a wife, mother and professional I need to know my clothes are polished enough for work and relaxed enough for weekends, are easy to maintain, can travel with ease, and have an integrity to last a long time, not just a season or two.”
You can purchase the latest Karen Kane clothing styles from the James Store.
The James Store will begin carrying Kingsley t-shirts and other apparel for kids in Spring 2008. Kingsley, in case you are unaware, is the brand that many Hollywood stars’ children are wearing. Most famously, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s baby, Shiloh, was wearing a Kingsley shirt in the famous People Magazine photo.
Here is a video of a Kingsley fashion show from the Pinch in Costa Mesa, CA in 2007. It is for their 2007 line, but gives some great indications of the style of this kidswear.

The James Store does not yet sell Crocs, but I guarantee you, we are trying. In the meantime, here is a great background article from Business 2.0/CNN Money describing the surging growth of this company. Highlights are:
- Crocs IPO in February was the richest in footwear history.
- In 2003, Crocs grossed $1 million in revenue– they project $322 million in 2007.
- Three pals from Boulder, Colorado went sailing in the Caribbean and a foam clog one had bought in Canada inspired them to build a business around it.
- Crocs were first sold to sailing enthusiasts but soon gained a word-of-mouth following among doctors, gardeners, waiters, and other people who have to be on their feet all day.
